Bike for rent

Japan Travelogue Series: Luup Bike Rentals

A bicycle is a popular way to get some exercise and with the COVID-19 pandemic still very much a concern, cycling has been a great means to commute and commune with nature. Using a bicycle as a mode of transportation helps reduce global warming because it emits no fossil fuels.

A bike requires less energy to produce. Unlike a car, it doesn’t need a lot of metal, it can use smaller roads to travel on, and it takes up less space for parking. Most of all, it is convenient and inexpensive when you need a quick ride to get around in one of the most populated cities in the world, Tokyo.

Rental bicyclesMany people prefer to use bicycles to get around in Japan. The country’s transportation system can get quite busy and it can be stressful to join the swarm of people especially during rush hours and amid COVID concerns. Bicycles are an important part of Japan’s daily life. The country’s vast public transport network makes it more convenient for people to commute to get around. Even more so, bicycle rentals found in strategic areas of Tokyo make it so easy for people to have this mode of transportation.

Bike rental services

Hello Cycling covers many areas outside Tokyo and is available almost all around Japan. It’s a fun way to explore places outside the city.

Bike Share is a relatively new service by NTT Docomo, a telecommunications company in Japan. Though the company had a slow start, it is beginning to gain popularity with more areas of Tokyo and Japan having rental spots for bicycles.

Luup Bike Rentals is a newcomer to the cycling rental scene. They are a relatively small company that focuses on the electric vehicle market. The company offers electric scooters, bicycles, and more. As of the moment there are three models of vehicles available in their fleet with more room for growth in the future.
