Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?
Social tour, because it allowed students to learn more about an aspect of Japan they were interested in specifically and allowed networking.
What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?
Speaking in immersion classes: it promoted thinking in Japanese. Written tests only do me, personally, so much good. Not to mention tests rarely show my actually ability to utilize what has been learned.
What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?
Verbalizing in class (i.e. when an instructor would ask us to utilize the grammar point, but with just one sentence, though occasionally building conversation off of it.)
Any comments or tips for prospective/new KCP students?
Stay on top of your homework and don't be afraid to try new studying styles. Colorful pens are your friends.
