Be aware early on of new vocabulary.

Degree to which the program met your expectations:

Excellent

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

I very much enjoyed out trip to Matsumoto Castle.

Why did you select this program?

It was recommended to me by someone who I consider to have a good idea of the Japanese language, it is in Japan as opposed to an American program, it cheaper than the other program I was accepted to and I think I got more for my money at this program.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

Having the class conducted in Japanese everyday was very good for my listening. Also, the hatsuon practice was very beneficial to me to hear my own voice and have it judged for accent and intonation. That is not something I have practiced at my University.

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

Be aware early on of new vocabulary, it will come up again so you might as well learn it as you move through the material instead of the day before.

Testimonials

I selected this program because I saw a favorable review for it in my Japanese club’s newsletter, and I had been looking for a study abroad in Tokyo. I also liked how inexpensive the program was and how the offered dormitories, which few other programs did.
