Keira from Summer Short 2019

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

I loved the trip to Yamanashi. With how many hours I spent exploring different districts of Tokyo, it was a wonderful opportunity to see a different prefecture too!

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

I loved how much the instructors pushed us to learn but also were very helpful! I very highly valued the time I had outside of class to explore and immerse myself in the culture!

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

Pair work - especially with Chinese and Korean students - was a very good challenge to help me improve!

Any suggestions for improving class activities or materials?

Perhaps just being mindful of how every student learns in different ways! Other than that, I think the program is great!

Anything you especially liked in the living arrangements? Any problems you experienced?

My favorite part of the dorm was just how close I got to the other students there. We became great friends! The environment there is very conducive to making friends and also studying!

What dorm did you live in or host family did you live with?

Ikebukuro

Testimonials

Choosing KCP was largely to do with the ease of application. A lot of other summer courses required a lot of paperwork and recommendations and transcripts that are a big pain to gather. But KCP’s application process was very easy and self-explanatory! Also, the student life photos looked interesting!
